Healing rooted in connection.

Why Silver Maple?

Silver Maple trees are notorious for having their bark and branches broken during storms. An odd name for a counselling clinic, no?

If we look a little closer, Silver Maple is a profound teacher in the practice of grief work, non-attachment, and letting go.

Sometimes, its the case that storms roll through our lives and take from us only the things that no longer serve us. Any experience that requires us to relinquish our attachments can be painful- but sometimes we come out even stronger on the otherside.

Other times, however, storms blow through and take what is most precious and dear to us. So often, the devastion of this kind of loss brings us to our knees. Grief carries with it the heartbreaking lesson that not all that is broken can be fixed, and not all that is painful can be healed. And yet, we must continue to live. These losses are not life lessons in disguise, but initiations into a life-long journey of learning how to continue living alongside our grief.

Whatever the loss we are facing, big or small, Silver Maple Trees show us how to remain connected to the ground that holds us and the roots that feed us, all in the face of what we have endured and lost along the way.

Silver Maple Counselling is here to honour your story and the pain of loss in all its forms and to support your journey through any storm.

Hi There,

Welcome, I'm so glad you're here.

My name is Brooke, and I am a Registered Social Worker. I work with individuals, couples, and families who are seeking support while navigating seasons of challenge and difficulty.

In my experience, therapy can often feel like slowly untying tricky knots in a giant ball of yarn. There are moments when the thread feels incredibly stuck, and other times it comes loose with ease. Whatever the process is for you, a vibrant tapestry can eventually be woven from the threads we loosen together.

My approach to therapy work is relational and client-centered. You are the expert in your own experience, and my role is to walk alongside you, not ahead of you. I'm here to help slow things down just enough so that whatever feels overwhelming can be understood, one manageable piece at a time.

If you're looking for a space to be met with deep empathy, genuine compassion, and someone willing to walk alongside you as you make sense of it all, I'd be glad to be that person for you.
